You should not put oil in your F-Series gearbox (including the F8). The F8 is shipped from our factory with 3 lbs. of Shell Alvania EP2 Grease (old name - Texaco MultiFax-EP2). Always use 3 lbs. of a good quality gun grease. 2] What type of lubricant should
be used in my J20/80, G20/40, 8300 Series, and 8800 Series gearbox?
3] What tractor horsepower
(HP) range should be used on each of the Danuser PTO diggers?
Model F8 is designed for 40 HP & up. Model J20/80 is designed for 20-80 HP. Model G20/40 is designed for 20-40 HP. 4] Do your PTO diggers fit all ASAE Category 3-pt. hitch tractors?
Model F8 is designed for Category I or II. Model J20/80 is designed for Category I or II. Model G20/40 is designed for Category I. 5] What are the gearbox ratios and the torque specifications for your PTO diggers?
PTO Model F8 has a gearbox ratio of 4.125:1 and delivers 1,813 ft.-lbs. of torque. PTO Models J20/80 & G20/40 have a gearbox ratio of 3.1:1 and delivers 1,014 ft.-lbs. of torque.

Model 8300 Series utilize a right angle gear reduction system for smaller tractor front-end loaders for lighter applications. Model 8900 Series utilize a planetary gearbox system for ASAE category I or II, 3-pt. hitch tractors, front-end loaders, and skid-steers for heavier applications. 10] What are the output spindle
sizes for your diggers?
PTO Model F8 is a 2-9/16" round. PTO Models J20/80 & G20/40 are a 2" round. Models 8300-1, 8300-2, 8800-1, and 8800-2 are a 2" round. Models 8900-4 & 8900-7 are a 2-9/16" round. Model 8900-8 is a 2" hex. 11] What types of auger points do you offer and what are their purposes?
Danuser offers five different agricultural auger points.
12] What edges and teeth are available for augers?
Cutting edges are available in plain or serrated. The Hole Digger Head uses teeth. Each cutting edge and tooth is manufactured from alloy steel and heat treated for maximum durability. Both cutting edges and teeth are replaceable.
13] How can I dig a deeper hole than my auger will allow?
Dig deeper holes by adding auger extensions to your auger. All Danuser
Auger Extensions come with an Auger
Extension Guard. If you
have an auger extension without a guard,
DO NOT operate without
one!
14] How can I quickly and easily attach/detach, transport, and store my Danuser
3-pt. hitch digger? The Danuser Auger Cart is the right solution for you. It will transport and store your Danuser 3-pt. hitch diggers: Models F8, J20/80, G20/40, 8800, and 8900 in four easy steps. Some of its features are; one person operation, 24" maximum diameter auger, parking brake, four wheels and steering capabilities. 15] How can I make difficult digging easier?
Down
force Kits are available to make difficult
digging easier. The kits attach to all Danuser boom-type diggers
without alteration and with the use of ordinary hand tools. They
provide approximately five hundred pounds (500 lbs.) of additional down
force to the auger point for
easier penetration of hard or frozen ground.
Kits do not interfere with normal digging operations. Kits operate with a one-way hydraulic cylinder. One line is connected to a tractor remote outlet and a second non-pressure line is connected to the hydraulic system sump directly, not through a remote outlet. 16] What are Danuser Auger Adapter Guards?

18] Why do I need a conversion kit for my PTO digger?
The F-series digger started in 1943. Since then we are on our 3rd PTO supplier. There are no PTO repair parts for the older diggers (prior to serial number 71,200). Danuser sells the conversion kits at a NET PRICE (our cost) to convert any older diggers with cast steel gearboxes over to the current production standards so you can obtain repair parts. The kit will also include all the current safety guarding. 19] What conversion
kit do I need if my serial number plate is missing or unreadable for my
PTO digger with a cast steel gearbox?
The conversion kit you need applies to the style of PTO you are using today. If you have an unguarded PTO shaft, yellow metal or black metal PTO guard, and your PTO is connected to the pinion with a castle nut, you will need Conversion Kit Part ID: 7577 (for 2-3/8” diameter center column augers) or Part ID: 7580 (for 3-5/8” diameter center column augers). If you have an E-clip style PTO where the PTO connects to the pinion with an E-clip (horseshoe looking clip), you will need Conversion Kit Part ID: 7578 (for 2-3/8” diameter center column augers) or Part ID: 7581 (for 3-5/8” diameter center column augers). 20] What conversion kit
is needed if my F-Series PTO digger with a cast steel gearbox serial
number is prior to 60,000?
Current production
Danuser F-Series PTO Diggers include Part ID: 7562 pinion
assembly. They have a black plastic Pinion Guard and black plastic
guards on the driveline,
and the driveline will be connected to the input pinion using a roll
pin.
If your digger does not correspond with the above description, you need to purchase a Part ID: 7577 conversion kit. The Part ID: 7577 conversion kit includes a pinion gear with hardware, pinion guard, gaskets, grease seals, complete guarded driveline all the way to the tractor, and the Part ID: 7270 auger adapter guard for 2-3/8" diameter center column augers. This Part ID: 7577 kit is required on all diggers with serial numbers prior to 60,000.

Current production Danuser F-Series PTO Diggers include a Part ID: 7562 pinion assembly. They have a black plastic pinion guard and black plastic guards on the driveline, and the driveline will be connected to the input pinion using a roll pin. If your digger does not correspond with the above description, you need to purchase a Part ID: 7578 conversion kit. The Part ID: 7578 conversion kit includes a pinion gear with hardware, pinion guard, gaskets, grease seals, all driveline parts out through the center cross at the U-Joint on the gearbox, and the Part ID: 7270 auger adapter guard for 2-3/8" diameter center column augers. This Part ID: 7578 kit is required on all diggers with serial numbers ranging from 60,001 to 71,199.

prior to 11,152? If the serial number of your G20/40 is prior to 11,152, you need to purchase a Part ID: 6136 auger adapter guard. This guard is required on all G20/40 PTO diggers. See photograph below. 27] What grade shear bolt
should I use in my PTO digger?
Use genuine Danuser replacement shear bolts only! PTO Model
F8 uses 1/2" - 13 X 4" Grade 2 with 3/4" of thread, Part
ID: 7731 bolt and Part ID: 7733 nut
with plain or serrated edge augers.
Use 1/2" - 13 x 4" Grade 5 with 3/4" of thread, Part ID: 7737 bolt and Part ID: 7733 nut with Hole Digger Head Augers. PTO Models J20/80 & G20/40 use 5/16" - 18 x 2-1/4" Grade 5 with 13/32" of thread, Part ID: 6015 bolt and Part ID: 573 nut. 28] Can I replace the flights
on my auger?

from my auger?
The points are normal thread. You may need a pipe
wrench to loosen, as the point tightens as you dig. Always
make sure to coat the point threads with grease before installing.
